有名な「チューリングテスト」-会話を通してソフトウェアが人間のように振る舞えるかを試す- をアートの世界に応用したコンテスト. どれだけ多くのジャッジを、コンピュータで生成した作品によって、人の手によるものだと「だませるか」を競います。 2016年のコンテストでは、詩、ショートストーリー、DJセットの三つの部門が開催されました.
結果としては、(予想できることですが) DJセットのカテゴリーの成績が一番高かったとのこと。優勝したソフトウェアは40%のジャッジを、人間のDJとして信じ込ませることができたとあります。実際にこちらでコンテストに参加したDJソフトウェアの出力例を聞くことができます。
以下は、詩のカテゴリーで優勝したアルゴリズムの出力例. “wave”というキーワードを受けての出力です. 面白いことを言っているようで、ストーリーとしてのつながりがあまり感じられません.
People picking up electric chronic.

ショートストーリーが一番難易度が高く、そもそろ3人のエントリーしかなかったとか. 2017年のエントリーも始まっています! 音楽のカテゴリーは、DJセットから、音楽的な人とソフトウェアの音楽的な「かけあい」にフォーカスが移っている模様. 5月が締切とのことなので、ぜひ挑戦を考えたいところです.
Three different Creative Turing Tests competitions were held in 2016: DigiLit for short stories, PoetiX for sonnets, and AlgoRhythms for dance music DJ sets. All entries were in the form of computer code that generates novel works in one of these three creative modes.
